Scott Kingery Has Shoulder Surgery, Done For Year
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies utility player Scott Kingery (shoulder) has undergone surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder and will miss the remainder of 2021, according to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com. It was a rough year all around for Kingery, who was outrighted to Triple-A Lehigh Valley at the beginning of June after hitting 1-for-19 with a run scored over 15 games this season. He hadn't looked much better at Triple-A either, as he was slashing .181/.307/.292 with three steals, five RBI and 11 runs scored over 23 games. Hopefully he'll be able to come back from this surgery and compete for a spot on the Phillies roster out of Spring Training, as managers will hope for a return to Kingery's 2019 level of performance.
