Starting at shortstop as a result of Philadelphia Phillies shortstop J.P. Crawford’s injury and subsequent disabled list stint, utility man Scott Kingery (elbow) was pulled from Tuesday’s game after getting plunked. The 23-year-old was batting seventh in the lineup when he was hit by a pitch on the elbow in the bottom of the ninth against the Miami Marlins. While he remained in the game, he was bruised, eventually being pulled in the 10th inning as the game went into extras. At this point, the Phillies don’t expect X-rays will be needed, as his removal was more precautionary than anything else.--RDelgado
