Scott Effross Expected To Be Activated Wednesday
2 years agoThe New York Yankees are aiming to activate right-hander Scott Effross (shoulder) from the injured list on Wednesday. He threw 20 pitches in live batting practice on Sept. 16 in Milwaukee, and the session went well. Effross will now join Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre for a minor league rehab start. He was initially placed on the injured list on Aug. 22 with what manager Aaron Boone described at the time as a small right shoulder strain. The 28-year-old right-hander will give the Yankees bullpen a boost to close out the regular season. Before his shoulder strain, Effross had a 3.24 ERA (3.47 WHIP), a 1.08 WHIP, one save and eight strikeouts in only 8 1/3 innings pitched for the Yankees.
