2 years agoNew York Yankees relief pitcher Scott Effross notched his fourth save of the season in Monday's 3-1 win over the Rangers. Effross delivered a scoreless, 1-2-3 ninth inning with a strikeout. The Yankees have recently implemented a closer-by-committee approach and Effross has been part of it, having now converted four of six save opportunities with a 2.54 ERA in 56 2/3 innings pitched on the season. It remains to be seen if the Yankees will continue with this approach in 2023, but Effross' fantasy value next season will likely be non-existent unless he can solidify a late-inning role.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
