Scott Barlow Records His Fifth Save On Wednesday
3 years agoKansas City Royals relief pitcher Scott Barlow closed out the team's 6-3 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday to earn his fifth save of the year. He pitched a scoreless ninth inning, allowing no hits or walks while striking out one. Greg Holland earned the save for the Royals on Tuesday, a game in which Barlow pitched the eighth inning. Holland has six saves on the year, but he has a worrisome 4.74 ERA and 1.42 WHIP while Barlow has a 2.76 ERA and 1.27 WHIP. Barlow is the team's best reliever right now, but he figures to have a bit of a flexible role in the bullpen, meaning he and Holland could continue to split saves going forward.
