Scott Barlow Records First Save Of Season Sunday
4 years agoKansas City Royals right-handed pitcher Scott Barlow notched his second career save and first of the season Sunday against Minnesota. While the outing was impressive for Barlow, it’s actually more noteworthy that he got the ball in front of Ian Kennedy, who seems to have been officially supplanted in the ninth-inning role by Trevor Rosenthal. In deeper leagues or ones that count holds, Barlow could have some appeal, as he has now piled up 12 strikeouts in 10 innings, in addition to being Kansas City’s No. 2 option to closing out games. His 10 appearances leads all pitchers in the Majors.
