Scooter Gennett And Reds Don’t Reach Contract Agreement
7 years agoJon Heyman of FanRag Sports that the Cincinnati Reds and second baseman Scooter Gennett have not come to a contract agreement. Heyman also notes that Gennett would be open to a long-term commitment with his hometown team. Gennett was picked up off the waiver wire from the Brewers before the 2017 campaign and put up a monster year. He hit .295 with 27 home runs and 97 RBI. Gennett only hit 35 home runs in four years with the Brewers, and the hope is last year was not a fluke. He won’t be a bad option for owners who miss out on the top second basemen in fantasy drafts.
