Sandy Alcantara Trying To Build On Last Start
1 year agoMiami Marlins right-hander Sandy Alcantara is taking the hill on Tuesday to start the game against Ryan Weathers and the San Diego Padres. He was solid in his last start, going six strong innings, giving up two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out three in Colorado. Overall, Alcantara's struggled through 10 starts with a 2-5 record, 4.86 ERA and 1.22 WHIP, and has pitched to a 21.6% strikeout rate and 7.6% walk rate. After winning the Cy Young award in 2022 and posting a career 3.25 ERA, Miami's ace is still a must-start, especially against a Padres club with a team OPS of .699.
