2 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara turned in an excellent start in Tuesday's 1-0 win over the Twins. Alcantara earned his first win of the season in a complete-game shutout, allowing three hits and a walk with five strikeouts on 100 pitches. This is the kind of outing fantasy managers have come to expect of the 2022 National League Cy Young winner, who pitched six complete games in 2022 out of 32 starts. The only non-elite aspect of Alcantara's game is strikeouts, but his ability to effectively pitch deep into games makes up for it. He now has a 1.84 ERA through his first two starts and is next scheduled to face a scuffling Phillies lineup on the road.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
