Sandy Alcantara Struggles With The Strike Zone On Thursday
4 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara struggled with throwing strikes in his Grapefruit League start against the Washington Nationals on Thursday. Alcantara ended up pitching 3 1/3 innings, allowing five walks while striking out four. He did not allow any hits and somehow got away without allowing any runs either. He threw 61 pitches, just 31 for strikes. It's early enough in spring to assume the Marlins ace could have just been "working on something" and nothing to worry about yet. He has yet to allow a run this spring and will be on the mound for Opening Day. He's a solid middle-of-the-rotation option in mixed leagues this season.
