Sandy Alcantara Strikes Out Nine On Wednesday
4 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara was excellent in Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the New York Mets. Alcantara got the start and pitched five scoreless innings, allowing just three hits while striking out nine and not issuing a walk. Alcantara has yet to give up a run this spring and is set to be on the mound for the Marlins on Opening Day. He'll have solid mixed league value, although fantasy managers shouldn't expect strikeouts at quite this rate. Despite having some games where batters will seemingly swing and miss at everything he throws, he still somehow ends up with a strikeout rate in the low 20s (K%) every season.
