Sandy Alcantara Strikes Out 12 In Friday's Loss
2 years agoMiami Marlins right-hander Sandy Alcantara had yet another fantastic outing against the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday. Unfortunately, his offense couldn't come through for him and he wound up taking his fourth loss of the year. Alcantara pitched eight innings in the game and allowed four hits, two walks and two earned runs while striking out 12. The 26-year-old now has a 1.76 ERA and a 0.90 WHIP over 19 starts on the season. He has been an absolute workhorse this year, leading the majors with 138.1 innings pitched. No other pitcher has reached 120 innings yet.
