Sandy Alcantara Strikes Out 11 On Sunday
3 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara was outstanding in Sunday's start against the Cincinnati Reds. He pitched seven innings, allowing just two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out a career-high 11. Despite the excellent effort, the Marlins ace took his 12th loss, dropping to 7-12 on the season. He's rarely received run support from the Marlins offense, and he seemed somewhat frustrated about it in the press conference after the game. Alcantara will take a 3.35 ERA into his next start.
