Sandy Alcantara Pitches Into The Fifth Inning On Monday
4 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara pitched into the fifth inning in Monday's Grapefruit League game against the St. Louis Cardinals. The Marlins Opening Day starter ended up pitching 4 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out five. Alcantara threw 82 pitches, 56 for strikes, as his spring ERA ballooned to 1.04. He's been excellent all spring and should continue to be excellent when he takes the ball against the Rays on Opening Day. He's a valuable starting pitcher in all fantasy formats.
