Sandy Alcantara Picks Up First Win On Thursday
3 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara went 6 1/3 solid innings pitched in the Marlins' 4-3 win over the Phillies on Thursday. Alcantara picked up the win, allowing only two earned runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out five. Alcantara now owns a 3.18 ERA and 1.41 WHIP over 11 1/3 IP in two starts on the young season. Thursday's performance for Alcantara was a much better outing than his first start of the season against the Giants in which he walked five batters over five innings. On the season, he owns a 9:6 K:BB ratio which should certainly improve in line with his 2021 K:BB ratio of 201:50 over 205 2/3 IP. Alcantara next lines up to face the Cardinals at home on Wednesday and remains a must-start SP option in all formats.
