Sandy Alcantara Has Been Plenty Effective Recently
2 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara has been excellent on the mound as of late. The 26-year-old has pitched to a 1.61 ERA, a 2.96 FIP, 77 strikeouts and 24 walks in 12 starts spanning 83.2 innings this season. He's been especially effective recently, with a 16-inning scoreless streak that included nine shutout frames against the Washington Nationals in his last outing on June 8. Alcantara also struck out six while scattering six hits that day. His next start will come on Monday night against the Philadelphia Phillies. It's a tough matchup, but fantasy managers should keep the right-hander in their lineups on Monday.
