Sandy Alcantara Goes Seven Innings, Allows One Run
5 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara lowered his ERA to under 4.00 for the first time since April 12 with his stellar performance in Milwaukee on Wednesday. Alcantara pitched seven innings and allowed five hits and one earned run while walking one and striking out five. He's now 3-5 with a 3.80 ERA on the year. It's been hit-or-miss all year for Alcantara and with his low 15% strikeout rate and concerning 5.32 xFIP, he might be headed for more misses than hits going forward. He's a fine streaming option against the right matchups but proceed with caution. His next start will be a decent matchup at home against the Cardinals on Monday.
