2 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers D/ST unit had two interceptions but only one sack and allowed 23 points to the Rams in Sunday's tilt in Los Angeles. While many had the 49ers as a top-2 D/ST option coming in, the Rams' offense gave them a surprisingly tough battle. For most of the day, Los Angeles' offensive line stood strong against the nearly fully healthy star-studded Niners' defense. Quarterback Matthew Stafford worked the pocket effectively and running back Kyren Williams found more running room than expected. It was a better real-life defensive performance than in fantasy as head coach Kyle Shanahan praised his defense post-game for their ability to protect San Francisco's lead in the final possessions. Up next will be a short turnaround for a Thursday night home opener against the New York Giants.--Brad Beltz - RotoBaller
