Samuel Ersson Sharp In Victory Over New Jersey
1 day agoPhiladelphia Flyers goaltender Samuel Ersson stopped 31 of the 33 shots he faced en route to defeating the New Jersey Devils on Monday evening. Ersson allowed his first goal to Dougie Hamilton late in the second frame. Then, in the final minutes of the third, New Jersey wing Timo Meier would score his 15th of the season to get the Devils within one. However, Scott Laughton would score the empty-netter shortly after to seal the victory. This was a nice bounce-back for Ersson as he allowed five goals in his loss to the New York Rangers in his last start. However, the 25-year-old was riding a five-game winning streak before this poor showing. During this stretch, Ersson held an impressive .930% SV and a 1.58 GAA. Ersson will look to start a new streak in a rematch against the Devils on Wednesday.
