Sammy Watkins Leads Packers In Receiving Sunday
2 years agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Sammy Watkins caught three of four targets for 93 yards Sunday during the team's 27-10 victory over the Chicago Bears. The ninth-year receiver led all Packers receivers in both targets and receiving yards, catching a 55-yard pass from quarterback Aaron Rodgers late in the fourth quarter. Allen Lazard was the only Green Bay wide receiver to find the end zone Sunday, and Rodgers spread the ball around the offense much more than we are used to seeing. Sunday was Lazard's first game back from injury, and he should become more involved in the future. Watkins will be tough to trust as a flex option next week against a Tampa Bay defense that has surrendered only 13 total points and one receiving touchdown through the first two games of the season.
