Sammis Reyes Is Healthy
1 year agoFormer Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Sammis Reyes (concussion) is healthy again and is free to sign with any NFL team this offseason, according to a league source. The Jaguars waived Reyes on Monday after he retired from football last August following his concussion in training camp last summer. The 28-year-old will attempt to continue his playing career in the NFL now that he's past his concussion, though. Reyes was active for 11 games (one start) in 2021 with the Washington Commanders but wasn't targeted at all in the passing game. Wherever he lands this offseason, he'll merely be providing tight end depth and won't be a lock for the 53-man regular-season roster.

Sammis Reyes Back On The Field
3 years agoWashington Commanders tight end Sammis Reyes (leg) is practicing with the team at training camp after missing the offseason program with what head coach Ron Rivera described as leg discomfort due to an "old screw" from a previous procedure. Reyes said he's comfortable physically and mentally after studying hours of tape while injured. Logan Thomas (knee) is on the Physically Unable to Perform list. John Bates is the de facto starter, while rookie Cole Turner is expected to contribute in the receiving game. Reyes is among the depth candidates that include undrafted rookie Curtis Hodges. The 26-year-old didn't receive a single target in 11 games last year and remains well off the fantasy radar at this time.
