Samaje Perine Could Have A Big Role For A While
1 year agoESPN's Dan Graziano thinks that Denver Broncos running back Samaje Perine could be the team's lead running back for a good chunk of the 2023 season. Javonte Williams (knee) has been practicing and even saw some action in the preseason after suffering a torn ACL in Week 4 of 2022. However, people close to the situation are saying that Williams needs to be eased in. Denver signed Perine as a complement to Williams once Williams got healthy. But if Perine shows he can handle early down work, it could allow the Broncos to take their time with Williams and bring him along slowly until he's fully healed. On 95 carries with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2022, Perine ran for 394 yards and two touchdowns. The 27-year-old is a nice RB3/flex to target in fantasy drafts this weekend.
