Sam Hilliard Homers In MLB Debut
5 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Sam Hilliard went 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk and two RBI in his MLB debut on Tuesday. He hit seventh in the lineup and started in centerfield. The Rockies haven't gotten steady offensive production from anyone outside of their star trio of Nolan Arenado, Charlie Blackmon and Trevor Story this year, so playing time could be available if Hilliard can earn it. The 25-year-old Hilliard clearly has power upside as he hit 35 home runs with 101 RBI in 126 games at Triple-A this year. No need to rush and add him at this point, but certainly keep an eye on him and see if he can stick in the lineup and deliver on his power potential.
