Sam Ehlinger Unlikely To Deliver In Week 18
2 years agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Sam Ehlinger will start in Week 18 against the Houston Texans. The second-year player from Texas was declared the starter after Nick Foles was ruled out due to a rib injury in Week 17 after getting sacked by New York Giants outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux. The sixth-round selection in the 2021 draft completed his first NFL touchdown pass when he found Michael Pittman Jr. for a six-yard score in last week's blowout loss. He also finished with a 64 percent completion percentage for 60 yards. While that throw could boost his confidence coming into their season finale, the Texans are sneaky good in pass defense. They surrender the fourth-fewest fantasy points to wide receivers at 27.51 points per game and the second-fewest to quarterbacks at 12.76. These numbers indicate there should be better options than Ehlinger for your fantasy lineups.

Sam Ehlinger Throws Two Touchdowns In Week 18 Start
2 years agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Sam Ehlinger finished their Week 18 game against the Houston Texans with 23 completions for 209 yards and two touchdowns. In the first quarter, he found receiver Michael Pittman Jr. via a one-yard pass to put the Colts on the board. The former Texas standout also connected with tight end Mo Alie-Cox to gain the lead in the fourth quarter. However, he also threw two interceptions, including one converted into a 39-yard touchdown return by Jonathan Greenard. The former sixth-round draft pick also had five carries for 21 yards. He is still looking for his victory as an NFL starter, a result that has evaded him after three tries. Ehlinger completed 63.4 percent of his throws in four games this year for 573 yards, three touchdowns and three picks. His fate in 2023 will heavily rely on what the Colts want to do at his position.

Sam Ehlinger To Start Against Texans, Nick Foles Ruled Out
2 years agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Nick Foles (ribs) will not play against the Houston Texans in Week 18. Interim head coach Jeff Saturday said Foles is still sore after taking a brutal hit against the New York Giants in the Week 17 loss. Sam Ehlinger will make his third start of the season, with Matt Ryan serving as his backup. Ehlinger has completed 41 of his 66 passing attempts for 364 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He remains off the fantasy radar in single-QB leagues in Week 18.

Sam Ehlinger Throws For 60 Yards In Blowout Loss
2 years agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Sam Ehlinger took over for Nick Foles (ribs) when the latter exited their Week 17 game against the New York Giants in the second quarter after a sack by Kayvon Thibodeaux. However, Ehlinger wasn't much of a help for the struggling Colts. While he went 9-for-14 in passes, he only gained 60 yards for an average of 4.3 per completion. The 24-year-old added 12 rushing yards on one attempt. However, Ehlinger did complete the Colts' only touchdown in the 38-10 blowout when he found Michael Pittman Jr. in the end zone for a six-yard pass. It remains to be seen if Foles or Ehlinger will be starting for Indianapolis in their season-ender against the Houston Texans next week. But either way, it's best to stay away from both players when looking for a quarterback for your fantasy roster.

Sam Ehlinger Won't Suit Up On Sunday Night
2 years agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Sam Ehlinger is inactive for Sunday's meeting with the Cowboys. Jeff Saturday had indicated earlier in the week he wanted to make a change to the depth chart. That's exactly what he did, as now Nick Foles will serve as Matt Ryan's backup. Ehlinger has played two games in 2022-23, throwing for 304 yards and an interception while completing just 61.5% of his throws. For those who still have the 24-year-old on their fantasy roster, it doesn't appear he'll be back under center anytime soon, as Foles is likely the next in line if Ryan continues to underperform offensively.
