6 years agoNew York Jets rookie quarterback Sam Darnold showed well in his preseason debut with the team, completing 13 of his 18 passes, including a touchdown after taking over in the second quarter. Darnold entered the game and was welcomed by a showering of cheers from his home crowd and immediately made an impact driving the team down the field and connecting on a touchdown pass with veteran Charles Johnson. With Teddy Bridgewater being rumored as a candidate to be traded, Darnold is poised to take over the starting role early on in his young career. Darnold is a sharp choice as the first rookie quarterback taken off the board in your dynasty drafts and is a worthwhile stash if you can get him late in redraft formats.--Justin Friel
