Sam Burns Heating Back Up Heading Into The Masters
2 years agoFor a player as talented as Sam Burns, shooting 75-74 in his Masters debut was certainly a surprise. Despite that rocky start around Augusta National, however, there's no doubt that Burns' combination of raw power off the tee and sumptuous touch on the greens can be a dangerous combination at any venue. A dominant 7-0 record at the Dell Technologies Match Play put on full display just how deadly Burns can be when he's in the zone, as he took out perennial favorites Patrick Cantlay, Cameron Young and Scottie Scheffler en route to the title. The biggest win of his career to date, those five days in Austin will surely give the Louisianian confidence heading into the first Major Championship of the season. Burns is more than capable of racking up birdies in bunches with the tools he possesses.
