Sam Bennett Expected To Miss Rest Of Regular Season
5 days agoFlorida Panthers center Sam Bennett (upper body) is expected to sit out the remainder of the regular season. The 28-year-old missed a second consecutive game on Tuesday against the Toronto Maple Leafs. "I just don't think he's going back in," Panthers head coach Maurice said of Bennett on Tuesday. "We're going to take the time for the rest of the season." Maurice added that Bennett could play, but the team aims to get him as close to 100 percent as possible for the playoffs. Bennett concludes the season with a career-high 50 points (25 goals, 25 assists) in 74 games. Fortunately for the Panthers, Aleksander Barkov (upper body) returned on Tuesday, which bolsters their center depth.
