2 years agoA solid first round was not enough to help Said Nurmagomedov earn a victory Saturday, as he dropped a unanimous decision to Jonathan Martinez. In 15 minutes of action, Nurmagomedov did out-strike Martinez by landing 47 significant strikes (101 total strikes) compared to that of Martinez's 38 and 78, respectively. Nurmagomedov did give up a bit more control time and was stuck in the control of Martinez for 6:09 of the bout's length. The loss snaps a four-fight winning streak and moves Nurmagomedov's UFC record to 6-2. It was a very close call, but he can easily bounce back from this bout.--Matt Bricker
