Sahith Theegala Looking To Put It All Together At Sawgrass
2 years agoThe runner-up for the 2022 Rookie of the Year award has come out of the gates like he has something to prove in 2023. Sahith Theegala has not only logged a fourth-, sixth- and 14th-place finishes in three of his last four starts, but he's achieved those results in a multitude of different ways. After being buoyed by his iron play and short game at Torrey Pines and Riviera, the Pepperdine alum flashed his prowess on Bay Hill's notoriously difficult putting surfaces last week by gaining over a stroke per round on the greens en route to a T14 finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Now we head to TPC Sawgrass, yet another chance for the young star to capture his first ever PGA Tour win. Theegala has shown a propensity for the big stage before, and two of his closest calls have come at other courses within the TPC network. If he can put all the tools together for four rounds, there is no limit to Theegala's upside.
