Ryan Zimmerman Homers In First Game Back
5 years agoWashington Nationals first baseman Ryan Zimmerman had been out since July 21 while dealing with plantar fasciitis in his right foot. In his first game back on Sunday, Zimmerman hit sixth in the lineup and went 1-for-3 with a walk, home run and two RBI. It's been a rough year for Zimmerman, who has appeared in just 34 games on the season. His .729 OPS this year is about 100 points below his mark from last year (.823) and he has an atrocious -0.2 WAR on the season. Zimmerman is worth keeping an eye on in deep leagues as he can be a solid source of power when he's hot, but he'll likely only be starting about two out of every three games at best for now, so he can remain on waivers.
