Ryan Weathers To Be Evaluated In 1-2 Weeks
4 months agoMiami Marlins left-hander Ryan Weathers (finger) will be evaluated to throw in one to two weeks. Weathers isn't going to return anytime soon and has already been shut down for almost a month with a left index-finger strain. Even if he's cleared to resume a throwing program in one to two weeks, there's no guarantee that he'll be ready to rejoin Miami's starting rotation in the month of July. The 24-year-old southpaw is also probably going to require at least a few minor-league rehab starts before being reinstated from the injured list. When he's nearing a return, the former seventh overall pick of the San Diego Padres in 2018 will be worth a waiver-wire pickup for pitching depth in deep-mixed leagues. In his first full season in Miami, Weathers had gone 3-5 with a 3.55 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and a 67:20 K:BB in 13 starts (71 innings) before injuring his finger.
