Ryan Tannehill Unlikely To Stay In Miami In 2019
6 years agoMiami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill is unlikely to be with the team heading into the 2019 season. The team is prepared to move on from him after seven seasons instead of paying him the $19 million he's owed each of the next two years. He carries a $26.6 million salary-cap hit next season, with none of his money guaranteed. If the Dolphins cut or trade him, they'd save $13.2 million in 2019 cap space or $18.7 million in cap savings if he's a post-June 1 designation. In the 10 games he's played this year, Tannehill hasn't thrown for 300 yards and has 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions for a 99.0 passer rating. He's been extremely mediocre throughout his career but could find another starting gig elsewhere in a year that offers very few high-ceiling quarterback prospects in the draft.
