5 years agoNew York Rangers forward Ryan Strome scored a goal and added an assist as his team picked up a home 5-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday night. Recently promoted to the Rangers' top line alongside winger Artemi Panarin, Strome also finished the contest with a plus-one rating, three shots, a power-play point and a block in 17:43 of ice time. The 26-year-old is taking advantage of his prime opportunity and with the big performance on Wednesday, now has 13 points (five goals, eight assists) through his first 13 games. With center Mika Zibanejad still sidelined due to injury, Strome's fantasy ownership continues to climb (40% owned in Yahoo! leagues) and he should be considered a strong short-term add at the moment. He'll be back in action versus the Hurricanes on Thursday.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller

5 months agoAnaheim Ducks forward Ryan Strome extended his point streak to three games with a goal in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Kings. The Ducks were almost shut out on home ice, as Strome tallied the team's only goal with less than two minutes remaining in regulation. Troy Terry and Frank Vatrano picked up the assists. The trio makes up Anaheim's third line, but they showed their scoring potential on Sunday. Strome went scoreless in the first two games of the season before starting his streak, which includes two goals and one assist. With him in good form, more success could be on the horizon for the entire third line. Anaheim has a very favorable matchup next as the leaky Sharks visit the Honda Center on Tuesday. --Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

1 year agoAnaheim Ducks forward Ryan Strome (upper body) will likely sit out a second consecutive game Friday versus the Jets. He participated in Friday's optional morning skate, but Ducks head coach Greg Cronin told The Sporting Tribune's Derek Lee that he doesn't think Strome will play. Strome sits fourth on Anaheim's points list, with three goals and 17 assists totaled in 35 appearances. Adam Henrique moved into the top six in his absence on Wednesday versus Vegas and looks set to remain there until the Ducks get healthy. Troy Terry (upper body) will also miss another game on Friday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

1 year agoAnaheim Ducks forward Ryan Strome missed Wednesday's 2-1 overtime loss to Toronto with an upper-body injury. The team considers him day-to-day. Strome joined Troy Terry (upper body) and Leo Carlsson (knee) as the third top-six forward to drop out of the lineup, although it looks like he isn't hurt too badly and could be available again soon. Strome was on fire early in the campaign, but the wheels have completely fallen off for him lately, and the 30-year-old has been limited to 20 points (three goals, 17 assists) in 35 games. He notched 11 of his points in October. Injuries have pushed Max Jones and Adam Henrique to top-line roles in Anaheim.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

2 years agoAnaheim Ducks center Ryan Strome grabbed two points for the second time in three games as the team hosted Florida on Sunday. Strome helped to keep the game tight with a goal and assist before the Panthers skated away with a 5-3 victory. The former Ranger had an awful start at his new club, but Strome has now found his feet and has grabbed six of his 10 points in his last five appearances. He is getting more playing time and is even averaging slightly more points than he did in New York last season, although Strome should still be able to improve his scoring pace even more. It's currently at 0.77 points per game.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
