3 years agoCarolina Panthers kicker Ryan Santoso has won the team's starting kicker job, per David Newton of ESPN. Santoso came to the Panthers via trade as an attempt to add competition to the kicking battle with incumbent Joey Slye- though the former emerged as the team's starter after the third and final preseason contest Friday. The 6-foot, 5-inch, 260-pound placekicker immediately impressed, nailing all five kicks he attempted, including a 52-yarder. Santoso could be a sneaky kicking option for a Panthers offense that could quietly be among the better units in the league in 2021.--Tim Capurso
