RFK Racing driver Ryan Preece will start 30th for Sunday's AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway. This will be the fifth time in his Cup career that Preece will start a race at Kansas 30th or lower. In 10 prior starts at the site, Preece has three top-20 finishes, including two of the last three Cup events there, and he nabbed positive Place Differential in seven different events. After 11 races this season, Preece has six top-20 finishes, including two top-10 finishes at 1.5-mile Intermediate tracks (Las Vegas and Homestead). In practice for this week's race, Preece ranked 34th in overall lap averages and ranked as high as 16th in 20 consecutive lap averages. Preece brings plenty of upside based on his starting position this week, and with decent results in recent Kansas races and this season at Intermediate tracks, Preece should be considered for all DFS formats this week.

Ryan Preece of RFK Racing obtained a starting position of 33rd for this week's race at Texas Motor Speedway, the Wurth 400. The No. 60 Ford driver was the slowest of the three RFK entries for Sunday's race during qualifying. In eight races at Texas, Preece has two top-20 finishes while collecting positive Place Differential five times. Through 10 races this year, Preece has six top-20 finishes, an average finish of 20.1, and five finishes with positive PD earned. In practice for this week's race, Preece ranks 17th in overall lap averages and 22nd in 10 consecutive lap averages. Based on his equipment, practice speeds, and 2025 performance, expect Preece to compete for a top-20 finish, making him a favorable DFS option for all formats.

In a race where Ryan Preece's two RFK Racing teammates Brad Keselowski and Chris Buescher both crashed early, it was left to Preece to carry the mantle for the organization, Preece took the lead four times and lost to Austin Cindric by a mere .022 second on track before being disqualified for a rear spoiler infraction. Preece ran in the top ten for most of the first and second stages but fell back because he burnt more fuel than his pursuers before he saved fuel in Stage 3 to jump the early leaders of that stage. After the pit stops, he was elevated to fifth and for all the backlash about how it was supposedly impossible to pass, he did move from the third row in the last ten laps to battle Cindric for the lead before the DQ. However, the resulting 38th place finish dropped him out of the playoffs and 19 points below the cutline.

Even though Ryan Preece is surprisingly running as well as his lead RFK Racing teammate Chris Buescher this year and qualified fourth for today's race at Talladega, it's very risky to start him since he is almost certain to lose positions since he averages fewer than one top five of a year. Admittedly, his first top five did come here in 2019 and he seemed to have a little speed at this track type when he was at JTG-Daugherty Racing, he's rarely seemed to have speed on drafting tracks with the Next Gen chassis. Admittedly, RFK does seem to be faster than his previous team Stewart-Haas Racing, but perhaps not that much faster since Buescher and especially Preece's boss Brad Keselowski seem a lot slower than last year. Even though Preece is in a Ford, he's extremely unlikely to have the speed he needs to dominate, making him a terrible DFS option.
