Ryan Preece Did Not Enjoy Qualifying At Las Vegas Saturday
2 years agoRyan Preece could never get his Stewart-Haas Racing car going on Saturday afternoon. His practice times were slow enough. Worse, he qualified 32nd for the South Point 400 on Sunday afternoon. Ford cars have lost speed typically later in runs, especially the Stewart-Haas cars. When he was a full second off Christopher Bell's time, that was ominous to say the least. Now, his positive place differential has been there in ten of his last 12 races. That includes several double-digit improvements. From a DFS standpoint, Preece could be a decent target on Sunday.

Ryan Preece Is An Intriguing Tournament Option For Darlington
1 week agoRyan Preece of RFK Racing will start in the second position after qualifying for this week's race, the Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway. This will be Preece's first start on the front row of any race since April 2023 at Martinsville when he won the pole position. In 10 previous starts at Darlington, Preece has six top-20 finishes, with none of them being inside the top 10. Through seven races so far this season, Preece has five top-20 finishes, including three consecutive top-10 finishes during the last three Cup events for the first time ever in his career. In practice, Preece ranked 12th in overall lap averages while showing great speed during the long run as he ranked second of all drivers in 20, 25, and 30 consecutive lap averages. Preece starting on the front row makes him a huge Place Differential risk, but his practice speeds on the long run, making him a driver worth consideration for tournament lineups at best this week.

Ryan Preece Has Three Straight Top-10 Finishes For First Time In His Career
2 weeks agoIt was another solid outing for Ryan Preece on Sunday afternoon, as the Roush-Fenway Keselowski Racing driver seems to be fitting in quite well with his new team after he earned a career-first third straight top-10 finish. Despite starting back in 21st-place, Preece was able to work his way through the field on Sunday afternoon before settling in late and coming home with a seventh-place result. After the race, he stated, "We're getting on a roll. At first, this is a place I wanted to take advantage of for points because I felt like Martinsville is in my wheelhouse, so I'm happy we did. I hate talking about points, but every bit matters." Preece is now sits 14th in the points standings after seven races. The series heads to Darlington next, where Preece has been knocking on the door of a top-10 lately, with finishes between 12th- and 17th-place in four of the last five races.

Ryan Preece Could Get First Three-Race Top-10 Streak Of His Career
2 weeks agoHeading into the Cook Out 400 race weekend, Ryan Preece is on a bit of a hot streak, as the Roush-Fenway Keselowski Racing driver has back-to-back top-10 finishes, coming home third at Las Vegas and then ninth at Homestead last week. Now we're the Martinsville Speedway where Preece is a legitimate dark horse every time the NASCAR Cup Series visits the track. Preece posted finishes of ninth and 14th in the two races at Martinsville last season while driving for Stewart-Haas Racing, and Martinsville is the only track that he has led a significant number of laps at (135 in 11 career starts). This weekend, Preece looked pretty good in practice, posting the eighth-fastest time on Saturday afternoon. He qualified back in 21st for this weekend's race, and with his top-10 finishing upside, could be a very strong DFS pick, especially at his palatable price of just $7,500 on DraftKings. He's not a must-have on the slate, but he's a strong pick for sure.

3 weeks agoRFK Racing's Ryan Preece earned another strong result for the 2025 season as he placed ninth during Sunday's Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Beginning the race from the 31st position, Preece quietly spent the entire race working his way through the pack. At the end of the first stage, the No. 60 Ford driver made it to the 20th position, failing to score stage points. Preece made it even closer to the front by the end of the second stage, as he placed 14th. Then, in the final stage, Preece kept his car out of trouble, executed on pit stops, and drove his way up to the ninth position, collecting his second consecutive top-10 result of the season. It was the third time in his Cup career that Preece scored back-to-back top-10 finishes, and he now cracked the top 16 in the points standings for the first time this season.
