Ryan Nugent-Hopkins Breaks Three-Game Skid with Pair of Helpers
5 years agoEdmonton Oilers forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins broke a three-game scoreless streak by setting up goals by Leon Draisaitl and Alex Chiasson on Friday night. Nugent-Hopkins now has 10 assists on the season but has only scored a single goal. Regularly Edmonton's third most used forward, Nugent-Hopkins is receiving plenty of opportunities but has struggled to make the most of them. Part of that can be attributed to his limited amount of playing time with Edmonton stars Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid. Nugent-Hopkins has only been on the ice with at least one of them for about 13 percent of his even strength ice time. Thankfully for his fantasy value, Nugent-Hopkins remains on the top power-play unit with both of them. His lone goal and six of his 10 assists have come on the power play this season, making it very clear that all of his fantasy value is tied to his power-play usage.
