Ryan Noda Out Due To Dental Emergency
1 year agoOakland Athletics rookie first baseman Ryan Noda (mouth) was scratched from Wednesday's starting lineup against the Boston Red Sox due to a dental emergency, according to the team. It's unclear exactly what Noda is dealing with, but he won't play on Wednesday and should be considered day-to-day. It remains to be seen if Noda will be available to play in the series opener on Thursday against the visiting Houston Astros. Rookie Tyler Soderstrom is making the start at first base on Wednesday and is hitting fifth in the lineup against Red Sox right-hander Brayan Bello. In his first 90 big-league games, Noda is hitting just .229 (63-for-275) with 11 home runs, 17 doubles, a triple, 38 RBI and 43 runs scored, but he's leading the league with 60 walks and has a strong .375 on-base percentage.
