1 year agoBaltimore Orioles first baseman Ryan Mountcastle (shoulder) is not in the starting lineup Thursday versus the Tampa Bay Rays and right-hander Aaron Civale. The 26-year-old left Wednesday's contest against the Cardinals early and there was some concern about the ailment following the contest as he went for imaging. Losing Mountcastle for a lengthy period would be a notable blow for the playoff-bound Orioles as he has hit .269 with 18 home runs and a .780 OPS on the season while he has hit .324 with a .900 OPS and 151 wRC+ since the All-Star break. Ryan O'Hearn will see reps versus right-handed pitching at first base while Anthony Santander could slide into that spot versus southpaws.--Brenton Kemp
