Newly-acquired Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Ryan McDonagh (hand) participated in his first full practice with his new team on Monday. Tampa received McDonagh via trade from the New York Rangers at the NHL trade deadline last week, although a hand injury has kept him sidelined since joining the Lightning. Although the 28-year-old wore a non-contact jersey during the practice and is doubtful for the Lightning’s Tuesday night matchup versus the Florida Panthers, McDonagh hopes to make his debut against his former team when Tampa plays the Rangers on Thursday. Once healthy, McDonagh is likely to play on the Lightning’s second pairing with Anton Stralman as well as Tampa’s second power-play unit. The veteran defenseman is definitely worth a look if he is available in your league, as Tampa has been an offensive machine this season and McDonagh will certainly add more fuel to the team's potency.--Alex McKenzie
