12 months agoThe Seattle Mariners have designated pitcher Ryan Jensen for assignment. The right-hander is a 40-man roster casualty as the club needed to clear a spot following the trade of Eugenio Suarez for Carlos Vargas and Seby Zavala. The 26-year-old split the 2023 season between the Cubs and Mariners organizations as he tossed a 6.10 ERA across 16 outings at Triple-A with the Cubs but turned a corner and worked to a 3.18 ERA across 13 appearances with Triple-A Tacoma in the Mariners organization. Jensen has consistently put forth strong strikeouts numbers in his professional career but has also dealt with notable control concerns as well.--Brenton Kemp
