12 months agoThe Miami Marlins have claimed relief pitcher Ryan Jensen off waivers from the Seattle Mariners. The right-hander was designated for assignment by the Mariners following their acquisitions of Carlos Vargas and Seby Zavala in a trade with the D-backs for Eugenio Suarez last week. The recently-turned 26-year-old has largely pitched in the Cubs' organization in his professional career and worked to a 6.10 ERA in 16 appearances with Triple-A Iowa before turning it around and posting a 3.18 ERA in 13 appearances with Triple-A Tacoma in the Seattle organization last season. As a result of his increased performance and young age, it's no surprise to see a club scoop him up in the hopes he can continue to excel in the 2024 campaign.--Brenton Kemp
