Ryan Jeffers Getting The Day Off
19 seconds agoMinnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers will retreat to the bench on Saturday for a rest day at Target Field against the division-rival Detroit Tigers. Christian Vazquez will do the catching for right-hander Chris Paddack and will hit ninth against rookie right-hander Jackson Jobe. The Twins continue to split the catching duties right down the middle between Jeffers and Vazquez, making them both tough to rely on, even in deeper formats. The 27-year-old Jeffers has gone 7-for-32 (.219) with a double, four RBI, a run scored, two walks and eight strikeouts in nine games played. Vazquez has been even worse at the plate, going 3-for-21 with no homers and a run scored in nine games played. He has not faced Jobe in his career and should be avoided for DFS lineups.
