Ryan Helsley Earns Ninth Save Of Season Tuesday
1 year agoSt. Louis Cardinals closer Ryan Helsley picked up his ninth save of the season in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Orioles. Helsley came in to pitch the bottom of the ninth up by three and delivered a 1-2-3 inning with no strikeouts. The 29-year-old missed a chunk of the season due to a right forearm strain but has pitched well when healthy, converting nine of 13 save opportunities with a 2.70 ERA, an 11.70 K/9 rate, and a 3.90 BB/9 rate. The Cardinals have been disappointing as a whole this season, but Helsley is still a worthwhile fantasy option in all leagues down the stretch.
