Ryan Ellis Among Nashville's Absentees On Tuesday
4 years agoNashville Predators defenseman Ryan Ellis (upper body) has been ruled out for four to six weeks and will miss Tuesday's clash against Carolina, with Ryan Johansen and Luke Kunin (lower body) joining him on the sidelines. Ellis is a real workhorse for Nashville and averages close to 25 minutes a night. He has produced nine points in 21 games this season with 45 shots and 37 blocks. Johansen has had a rough season with five points in 14 games and he had just returned from an injury layoff, so this is very disappointing for him. Erik Haula takes over Johansen's center spot on the third line. Kunin, who boasts five points in 17 games, has been skating as a fourth-liner lately, so his absence won't hurt the team much. Dante Fabbro will join Roman Josi as Ellis' replacement on the first defensive pairing and looks set to skate on the second power-play unit as well.
