Ryan Ellis Acquired By Flyers In Three-Team Swap
3 years agoThe Philadelphia Flyers acquired some defensive help on Saturday when the organization landed Ryan Ellis is a three-team swap with the Vegas Golden Knights and Nashville Predators. The club parted ways with center Nolan Patrick, the former second-overall selection in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, and defenseman Philippe Myers. The veteran defender comes with a high price tag as he's locked into a contract through the 2026-27 season with a $6.25 million AAV. Last season in 35 games, Ellis scored five goals and recorded 18 total points while playing close to 24 minutes a game. He could become a top-pair defenseman for the Flyers in 2021-22 with additional time on the second power-play unit.
