Ryan Brasier Designated For Assignment Monday
2 years agoThe Boston Red Sox have designated Ryan Brasier for assignment on Monday, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports. The 35-year-old has struggled mightily on the bump, pitching to a 7.29 ERA and 1.57 WHIP with 18 strikeouts over 21 innings and hasn't been a productive arm since 2021. With Brasier off the roster, it opens up a spot for Joely Rodriguez (oblique), who the club will activate from the injured list on Monday. Neither transaction has many ramifications in fantasy leagues unless the 31-year-old Rodriguez plays into some high-leverage appearances and can muster a handful of holds.
