Russell Wilson To Have MRI On Finger
3 years agoSeattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson (finger) will have an MRI on his injured finger Friday. X-rays showed no fracture in Wilson's finger, which he badly sprained against a Rams' player's helmet during Thursday night's loss, though the team will have him go for an MRI and then seek a consultation with a hand specialist. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport notes that the team believes Wilson has "mallet finger"- or a bad sprain that makes it hard to flex the finger. Surgery is a possibility for the Seahawks' signal-caller, who has made 164 consecutive starts. More updates will come today- but it is becoming increasingly likely that backup Geno Smith will be starting in Week 6 against the Steelers.
