Russell Gage Has Some Sleeper Appeal Against Philadelphia
3 years agoAtlanta Falcons wide receiver Russell Gage will get a chance to show what he can do with a bigger role in the offense in a favorable matchup against the Eagles in Week 1. Gage sneakily compiled 110 targets last season, hauling in 72 catches for 786 yards and four touchdowns, even as the third option behind Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley. Even if he takes a backseat to Ridley and talented rookie Kyle Pitts, Gage should see enough looks to make an impact for fantasy purposes against an Eagles defense that ranked 25th in fantasy points per game allowed to opposing receivers last year. His ceiling will depend on if the game turns into a shootout, but Gage should give fantasy managers a solid floor as a flex play in Week 1.
