Royce Lewis Undergoes Successful Surgery To Repair Torn ACL
4 years agoMinnesota Twins shortstop Royce Lewis (knee) had successful reconstruction surgery to repair the torn ACL in his right knee on Friday. Lewis had previously experienced some soreness in the knee before arriving at camp, but the pain exacerbated when he slipped on some ice. He'll spend some time in Minnesota before going back to Fort Myers to begin his rehab, which should take nine to 12 months. Still just 21 years old, Lewis should be back on track to play at Double-A next year, where the former number-one pick can continue to show his blend of contact, power, and speed with added repetitions.
